Another major novelty: our front cushion to protect against waves. Much more than just an accessory, this cushion has been designed to meet several potential needs for discerning boat owners, in a single smart solution.

The cushion beautifies the front of the benches and gives your SRE 23 an even more neat and premium look. Available in several colours, it adapts to your style.
Optimised comfort:
Sitting side by side at the front of the boat? The cushion serves as an ergonomic backrest for several people, making long hours of navigation or fishing much more enjoyable.
Safety for your shoes:
On Powercat models, where high-speed navigation can expose the cockpit more to water splashes, this cushion acts as a soft first level barrier, between the front platform and the cockpit. If you missed to dodge a wave, this might help from unwanted shoes floating backward and finally falling in the water!
🌊 Does this mean the open bow of this boat is a disadvantage ?
We know how surprising it can be to sail on a boat with an open front platform and so the wave can potentially flush all over the deck from the front to the back and potentially drag shoes or bags that would float on water. In fact, we believe that the advantages of this new design are so much greater than the disadvantages that we absolutely do not give up this choice quite the contrary. On the other hand, it is necessary to explain this choice and this is the purpose of this article.
First of all, it should be remembered that between 2016 and 2026, seaZen boats transported more than 17,000 visitors over more than 17,000 km without ever having had any desire to change this design, on the contrary, the boats are acclaimed by the public, and each new boat developpement confirmed this choice as an identity of SeaZen solar boats. When we cruise faster that 4 knots, we realised that our captains feel a certain pleasure in avoiding the waves, going to take from a good angle, and it is finally a feeling quite close to the skipper of a sailboat, except that the boat lists less and that there is no need to manage the sails. Finally, they enjoy piloting a solar boat when there is a choppy weather, because they are in permanent interaction with the sea.
However, a solar boat means also a Zen Boat accessible to the widest public of boat owner, even if the captain is less experienced. A large part of this audience comes from the world of motorised yachting and is used to going faster in the waves. This is where these cushions can be be useful. The faster a sailor goes and the less experience he has to anticipate the waves, the more he may brake in waves sooner or later. That’s when the cushions will catch up by deferting the wave’s path towards the water drains.
